Biographical Information

James Barany was born in South Bend, Indiana in 1930. He was a professor and an associate head of the School of Industrial engineering at Purdue University. He received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Notre Dame in 1953. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. Barany received his master's degree in industrial engineering at Purdue University. He received his Ph.D. in 1961.
