Materials relating to Purdue University's work with the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur. Records appear to primarily relate to the activities of Oliver Dunn (Purdue Libraries) and other library staff in contributing to the planning and creation for the library at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. The majority of papers relate to purchasing books for the new library, as well as procedures for library staff. Information is also included on the early years of the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, and its development as a result of the Kanpur Indo-American Program. Early reports, course bulletins, newsletters, and brochures provide insight into the development of the Indian Institute of Technology including the role of staff from Purdue University and other universities in creating the foundation and infrastructure for the new educational institute. The bulk of the records were assembled in sequentially numbered binders, in a scrapbook style. The binders were presumably assembled by Oliver Dunn or other Purdue libraries staff.
