Historical Information

Purdue University Residence Hall X was constructed in 1952. The Hall was officially renamed Meredith Hall as approved by the Purdue Board of Trustees in 1965. The hall was named after Virginia C. Meredith, also known as the "Queen of American Agriculture." Virginian C. Meredith had an illustrious career and made great contributions to the fields of agriculture and home economics. Meredith originally housed 600 men until the hall was renamed in 1965. The hall then housed solely females. Every resident of Meredith was a member of the WRX Club. The WRX Club was responsible for planning recreational and academic events for residents to participate. Currently Meredith Hall houses approximately 620 students of all genders.
