The Douglass Shortridge collection contains artifacts from Shortridge's student years at Purdue, historical newspapers from the end of World War II, a newspaper obituary of Abram C. Shortridge, and other documents accumulated during Shortridge's career.

Biographical Information

Douglass R. Shortridge graduated from Purdue in 1953 with a B.S. in Science and from the Indiana University Law School in 1959. At Purdue, he was a member of ROTC, Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity, and Iron Key Honorary; Junior Class President; and Editor-in-Chief of the Purdue Exponent. He was the great-grandson of Abram C. Shortridge, second Purdue University President.

Acquisition Information

Materials donated by Douglass Shortridge on August 12, 2004, October 25, 2004, and August 8, 2005.

Processing Information

All materials housed in acid-free boxes. Newspapers have been flattened and stored in acid-free folder.
