Scope and Contents

This series encompasses Cornish's extensive career in aviation following World War One with his work at Aereco Flying Service, manager of the Paul Baer Municipal Airport in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and after World War Two as the first director of the Aeronautics Commission of Indiana. Also included are events Cornish participated in, aviation groups he was a member of, anniversary flights, and awards and accolades. Types of materials include photographs, correspondence, documents, clippings, awards/certificates, and artifacts. Artifacts include two pilot goggles, a pair of pilot gloves, and a pilot's cap autographed by family, friends, and colleagues of Cornish. Of note are pilot log books, materials on Cornish's anniversary flights he made each year starting in 1968, and his Guinness World Record as the oldest working pilot at the age of 97 in 1995.
