  1. Speaking Engagements
  2. Performances
  3. Documentaries

Processing Information

Audiocassettes have been assigned two sets of indicator numbers. The first is the numbering system that the Black Cultural Center (BCC) originally assigned the cassettes. This is a sequential numbering system ranging from C1 to C241. The second numbering system was assigned by the Purdue Archives and Special Collections (ASC) and indicates the location of the cassettes based on box and item number, starting at Box 3, Cassette 1 and ending at Box 9, Cassette 29.

The original BCC numbering system has been kept to maintain the context around how the BCC ordered the collection, and to make it possible to fill in gaps in the collection if additional cassettes are acquired. The ASC numbering system has been added to aid researchers and archivists in locating and returning cassettes, and to provide a uniform numbering system that accounts for missing and duplicate instances in the BCC's numbering system, as well as cassettes that did not have an instance assigned by the BCC.
