Scope and Contents

Series two documents Fink's personal life, including his friends and family. Subseries one has material relating to his relationship with Berenice Carroll as well as her research and career. Of particular note in subseries two, which documents his family, is a folder of Civil War era letters that were written from one of his relatives while serving in the war. The other two series contain materials that document Fink's education, friends, and other miscellaneous personal items. This series contains extensive letters and correspondence that provide ample insight into Fink's personality, hobbies, and research, as well as his interpersonal relationships.

Series two, "Personal Papers," is arranged into 4 subseries. Subseries have been kept in their original groupings and order whenever possible. When no orginal order was discernible, the papers have been grouped by type and/or topic and arranged chronologically.

Physical Characteristics and Technical Requirements

Materials are stored off-site. At least 24 hours notice is required. The collection is in good overall condition. A small number of older materials are in fragile condition and should be handled with care, particularly the Civil War era letters contained in Box 15. Access to digital material is available on-site in the reading room. Please contact archives for more information.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

Digital files donated on 3.5" and 5.25" floppy disks. Digital copies were made on March 27, 2019 to for preservation and ease of access copies.
