Biographical Information

Eva Mozes Kor was born in 1934 or 1935 in Portz in present day Hungary. She and her family were interred in Auschwitz in 1944; only she and her twin sister Miriam survived. She lived in Romania and Israel after the war until marrying American Michael Kor and moving to Terre Haute, Indiana. Kor was a notable advocate for Holocaust survivors and established CANDLES, Children of Auschwitz Nazi Deadly Lab Experiments Survivors.
