Biographical Information
Ruth Miriam Siems was a Purdue alumna (Home Economics, 1953) and inventor of Stove Top Stuffing.
Siems was born on February 20, 1931 in Evansville, Indiana. She attended Purdue University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in home economics, 1953. While at Purdue, she worked under faculty member, Gertrude Sunderlin, who oversaw the creation of the Master Mix.
After earning her degree, Siems worked for General Mills where she invented Stove Top Stuffing. Siems retired in 1985, after more than thirty years.
Siems died on November 13, 2005.
