Biography
Michael Horowitz is an historian, writer, and collector of papers and books. He worked with Timothy Leary as his archivist, preserving and disseminating his works. Horowitz then went on to combine his archives with those of Rabert Barker and William Dailey, creating the Fitz Hugh Ludlow Memorial Library. This library was later bought by Julio Mario Santo Domingo Braga, creating the Ludlow-Santo Domingo Library. Horowitz is the co-athor of the High Times Encyclopedia of Recreational Drugs, and an Annotated Bibliography of Timothy Leary. With his wife, Cynthia Palmer, he is co-editor of Moksha: Writing on Psychedleics and Visionary Experience, and Sisters of the Extreme: Women's Writings on the Drug Experiece. Horowitz was raised in Brooklyn, moved to San Francisco in 1967, and then to Vancouver in 2006. He runs Flashback Books, an online bookstore specializing in psychoactive printed materials.

Contains Grof's correspondence concerning the Esalen Institute and the screenplay Brainstorm. The correspondence also documents Grof's achievements, as well as a letter from the Czech president. This series includes an email between Michael Horowitz and Ralph Metzner and a letter to Dr. Willis Harman from and signed by Albert Hofmann.
