Historical Information

The nursing program at Purdue University was started in 1963 with an inaugural class of thirty students and initially administered through the Department of Applied and General Studies in the Division of Applied Technology. The program continued to grow and expand their degree offerings and in 1979 the Board of Trustees created the School of Nursing. The School of Nursing has been a part of the College of Health and Human Sciences since its inception in 2010. Today the program offers accredited bachelor's, master's, and DNP programs.
