Historical Information
Located at 608 Waldron Street, the Oliver Perkins Terry house operated as a dormitory unit at the discretion of the trustees of the university. It was previously the Theta Chi Fraternity house until it was purchased by the Purdue Research Foundation for $32,500 in 1937. The house was to be a memorial of Dr. Oliver Perkins Terry, the former head of the university student health service. It was sold back to the Purdue Research Foundation in 1959 for $100,000 and was given to Acacia Fraternity in exchange for property on state street. The Dining Lounge Center Building in the Gable Courts (Terry Courts) was built in 1957 and took on the Oliver Perkins Terry House name in 1961.
