Historical Information

The Class of 1950 Lecture Hall was constructed in place of the old physics building. It consists of an auditorium which seats 500 and three additional classrooms which can accommodate 29-40 people each. The main lecture auditorium consists of modern audiovisual technology and state-of-the-art acoustics to allow for a better learning environment. The building is made up of brick and is supported on the first level by large brick columns, with the second floor wall being made of windows. Inside the southwest column is a time capsule of the Class of 1950. On the second floor there is a 700 pound bronze statue of two classmates from the Class of 1950 entitled "The Way It Was." The Class of 1950 Lecture Hall is located on Oval Drive next to Stanley Coulter Hall and is connected to Peirce Hall and the Psychological Sciences building.
